Misonix SonicOne®

Ultrasonic Wound Care System

The Misonix SonicOne is an innovative wound care system designed to address the challenges chronic wounds present to the patient, the healthcare professional and the healthcare system. The SonicOne ultrasonic wound care system establishes a new standard in wound bed preparation, an essential first step in the wound healing process.

Achieving superior levels of debridement

The successful removal of necrotic materials and devitalized tissue from a wound is an essential first step towards wound healing. The SonicOne differentiates itself from other debridement systems by facilitating an extremely thorough debridement, with minimal pain sensation and excellent preservation of healthy, soft tissue. The built in, adjustable irrigation system allows cell debris, bacteria, and exudates to be easily flushed from the wound site, an important element in wound cleansing. Clinical experience with the SonicOne suggests exceptional wound bed granulation, accompanied by significantly reduced bleeding and tissue trauma.

Innovative technology

The SonicOne generator converts standard wall voltage to a 22.5 KHz electrical signal. The handpiece, using highly efficient piezoelectric crystals, converts the electrical signal to mechanical vibrations. The titanium alloy probe amplifies the mechanical vibration and transfers the acoustic energy into the tissue, via direct contact. The resulting cavitation, mechanical and hydrodynamic effects produce tissue disruption, fragmentation and emulsion in the wound bed.

The SonicOne system includes everything needed to start cleansing and debriding wounds ultrasonically.

"The SonicOne is indispensable in our clinic. There is a great sense of security to be able to achieve reduction in necrosis, debris, and bacteria from our patient’s wounds with minimal to no discomfort, as well as the satisfaction of promoting wound healing at the same time."

Clinical Flexibility

The design of the individual wound care probes allows the SonicOne to be effective on a variety of tissue types. Clinical applications include, but are not limited to the debridement of diabetic foot ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure sores, burns and bone. Ease of use and portability make the SonicOne suitable for a broad variety of wound care settings: acute care, operating rooms, extended care facilities, outpatient facilities and wound care clinics.

Features and Benefits:

Wound Debridement Probes

The SonicOne Wound Debridement Probes are designed to specifically address the needs of different wound types. The unique shape of each probe allows the clinician to choose the most appropriate probe based upon the wound. All of the ultrasonic probes are designed for direct contact with the wound surface, providing maximum wound debridement efficacy.

Gold Probe

The Gold probe, with its broad, angled wound contact surface, is effective on a wide variety of necrotic material. This makes it our most versatile probe for general ultrasonic wound debridement.

Green Probe

The Green probe is designed for use on delicate wounds. When combined with the ultrasonic pulse function, the system is ideal for use on pain sensitive patients.

Blue Probe

The Blue probe can effectively penetrate deep, narrow wounds that may need moderate to highly aggressive debridement. Its cylindrical shape, with radially positioned energy directors, is optimized for ultrasonic debridement of tunnel or sinus tract walls.

Purple Probe

The Purple probe is the next generation ultrasonic curette. The ultrasonic effects, induced by a curved contact surface with a non-sharp leading edge, facilitate the precise engagement and removal of targeted tissue. The curved edge shape allows the wound edge to be saucerized easily and accurately.

Copper Probe

The Copper probe has a narrow angled end optimized to access and ultrasonically break the bonds between the eschar and wound bed. The eschar can then be easily lifted off, while preserving the underlying tissue.

Magenta Probe

The Magenta probe has a hatched wound contact surface that provides aggressive debridement. This probe is ideal for the ultrasonic removal of necrotic bone and thick eschar.
