UKHIFU Limited was founded to bring the benefits of HIFU technology to cancer suffers and their families. Prostate cancer is the first cancer to be treated with HIFU technology in the UK using the Sonablate® 500 system from Misonix and Focus Surgery from the USA. It is envisaged that other cancers will be treated using HIFU in the future.
The founders of UKHIFU are Nick Stevens, Managing Director of Imaging Equipment Limited, and Vic Griffin, Operations Director. The two companies will share IEL's facility in Bristol.
Imaging Equipment Limited supplies a broad range of imaging and quality assurance products in to the NHS and private sector hospitals within the UK and Ireland. With ISO accreditation, IEL's aim is to provide ongoing support and efficient backup and maintenance to its users.
